1. Vacuum area to be cleaned. Maintain
and clean your vacuum equipment daily (check bag
and belts) to ensure optimum performance.
2. Stain removal. Use Preferred
Stain Clean VLM™
to remove stains such as; ink, red dyes petroleum or grease.
3. Prepare area for Swedry®
Carpet Cleaning (DAM -Dry Absorbent Media Extraction). Spray a
light mist of Preferred Stain Clean VLM™
to traffic areas and/or overly soiled carpet. For finest results we
recommend pre-cleaning with Preferred Stain Clean VLM™
and a OP machine or a 175rpm floor machine. Most DAM (dry absorbent media)
cleaning professionals are extremely satisfied using this 1-2 step on low
looped textile carpeting and on heavily soiled traffic areas. Follow
dilution ratio on bottle label.
4. Apply Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner. How much product to put down depends on prevailing
soil conditions. For overly soiled (overly cleaned) carpet it may be
necessary to repeat steps 4-6 in an attempt to remove dried detergent residue
left behind by steam cleaning, household spot removers or rental cleaning units.
5. Brush Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner with Swedry™
Carpet Cleaning machine.
a. For best results brush Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner in several directions. Important.
b. Re-apply and re-brush Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner in abused or detergent residue areas. Important.
c. Ask your customer where they have used household liquid spot cleaners,
rental carpet cleaning equipment or where they have received professional
cleaning. We suggest that you apply Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner to those areas in an attempt to absorb and remove
detergent residue. You may wish to clean these residue areas 2-3 times in an
attempt to remove dried detergent residue. (Do not hold yourself responsible for
sticky soap residues left by wet carpet cleaning products).
6. Vacuum/remove Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner
a. Professional carpet cleaners; Allow Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner to dry completely (10-20 minutes) before vacuuming.
b. Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner is safe for people, pets and our environment and will continue to
absorb any new soil for up to 3 days. However, most customers prefer that you
remove Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner completely. BUT, for restoration jobs, (or ...for carpet that is
abused due to over-cleaning), it may be necessary to leave behind a small
amount of Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner. Inform your customer that Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner is not harmful. Ask your customer to wait 3 days before vacuuming
the small amount of Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner that you propose to leave behind.
c. Remember: The worst thing for carpet IS wet conventional carpet
cleaning, liquid spot removers and rental equipment, (short of a fire or flood
of course). We do not believe that Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner can remove 100% percent of detergent residues. Some
wet-conventional carpet cleaning professionals can be contracted to perform what
is commonly referred to as an acid rinse process, (cool water rinse). This
procedure is the only thing that we know of that can remove dried detergents
from carpet ...and
this procedure, as you know, can create several other problems.
Maintain your vacuum equipment to guarantee optimum performance!
More Professional Tips and Suggestions
1. Pre-clean with Preferred
Stain Clean VLM. For heavily soiled or over cleaned areas we
suggest OP or Rotary Cleaning. Pre-cleaning in this way before Swedry®
Carpet Cleaning prepares the carpet for the removal and extraction of dried
detergent residue's caused by some household liquid spot removers and/or wet
cleaning systems. This means extra time and possibly a purchase of a rotary
bonnet machine but we highly recommend it.
2. Ask your customer where they have used any liquid spot removers. (The
point is: you MUST find out where your customer has put liquid-sticky-soap in
their carpet). Brush Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner in detergent residue areas to absorb dried detergent residue.
Even if the carpet looks clean where liquid spot removers have been used, inform
the customer that Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner will only absorb "a portion" of any dried detergent
residue, (removing detergent residue with Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner may take 2-3 applications by a customer over a period of a few
days). We don't recommend that you hold yourself responsible for sticky soap
residues.
If your customer has spots that "come-back" ask them to call us at
1-800-Dry-Carpet or visit DryCarpet.com. Our
products can be purchased online.
3. Vacuuming/removing Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner. You may wish to use a broom to remove Swedry®
Carpet Cleaner from base-boards, edges and furniture legs instead of using a
vacuum crevice tool. Brush/broom product away from base-boards, then vacuum.
Be sure to use a powerful commercial vacuum cleaner. Maintain your vacuum
equipment (check bag and belts) daily.
